On Sunday, Archbishop Demetrios of America arrived at the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour in Rye, NY, for a morning of prayer, community, and fellowship. A full church greeted His Eminence for Orthos and the Divine Liturgy, though it was the consecration of the church’s new iconography with holy chrism from Constantinople that garnished the most attention.
The emotional morning was capped off with a luncheon where the short film documenting the completion of the church’s iconography mission, PISTEVO “I Believe”, premiered to over 400 people. Altogether, it was a day the parishioners of the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour will remember for a long time.
