The Hellenic News of America interviewed our Executive Producer Michael Psaros!

Mr. Psaros spoke to the Hellenic News and the Greek TV station ERT3 about PISTEVO “I Believe” and his dream for every faithful member of the Orthodox Church around the world to see the film. He also stressed the importance of Orthodoxy to Hellenism, and concluded the interview by bringing attention to the persecution of Christians in the Middle East.

For Holy Week, PISTEVO “I Believe” was broadcast on the Greek TV stations of STAR, Odyssey, and Antenna to over 50 countries around the world! Preliminary numbers show that our beautiful documentary was seen by over 200,000 people!

PISTEVO “I Believe” was screened at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Media, Pennsylvania, to an audience of over 150 people! The presentation was organized by the Hellenic News of America, and a short Q and A followed the viewing. We are honored to be able to continue to present PISTEVO and serve as a source of inspiration for the faithful.

PISTEVO “I Believe” had a booth at the 25th anniversary of the Hellenic News of America’s Hermes Expo in Concordville, Pennsylvania. We were able to inform, educate, and entertain attendees about our film and the beautiful iconography at the Church of Our Saviour.

At the Awards Dinner after the Expo, The Art of Belief Episode III: Our Mission was screened to an audience of 250 people, the largest audience at a public screening since PISTEVO’s premiere!

St. Matthew was originally a tax collector during the time of the Roman Empire. Jewish tax collectors were considered destructive betrayers of their country and religion by their peers. Speaking with a tax collector was considered a sin, and associating with one was defilement.When Matthew first heard the voice of Jesus Christ, he left everything and followed the Savior. The Pharisees asked why Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors. But the Lord had “come to call not the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Mt. 9:13).  Matthew acknowledged his sins, repaid anyone he had cheated, and gave his remaining possessions

St. Peter was born in Bethsaida in Galilee. He was a fisherman and the brother of Andrew. He was called to be the fisher of men and was named “Cephas” by Jesus Christ, which means rock. In all lists of the Twelve, he is named first. Peter’s confession of faith was soon followed by a sharp rebuke from the Lord. Peter said that he would never leave his Lord, and then later as predicted, he denied Jesus three times. Peter later made amends for his triple denial by a triple protestation of love.

Paul Kotrotsios of the Hellenic News of America, in cooperation with the Mid Atlantic Greek America Foundation, hosted three unforgettable dinner-dance events in Philadelphia, New York, and Baltimore over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.  “We put center stage Epirotes and their friends,” explained Kotrotsios. “We are having fun and helping a good cause, the Orphans and Elders in Epirus, Greece.” PISTEVO “I Believe” had a booth at the event in Philadelphia. We were thrilled to be involved in such an honorable undertaking!!

PISTEVO “I Believe” made its television debut on TV4e in Greece!

For our film to go from its premiere at the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour in Rye, NY, to a worldwide broadcast from Thessaloniki, Greece, was incredibly exciting!!

TV4e is the only Hellenic Orthodox Television station that broadcasts worldwide to a global audience of 800,000 Greek Orthodox households via satellite. Based in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, its programming covers information, entertainment, intellectual and scientific cultivation, and education and culture.
